NMU NEW STUDENT EMAIL ADDRESS
As a new student of Nelson Mandela University (NMU), your official university email addresses are firstname.surname@mandela.ac.za which you can start using immediately.
Please be assured that emails sent to you at your @nmmu.ac.za address will continue to work.
However, the default sending address will remain @nmmu.ac.za until the end of this term (22 September) to allow users sufficient time to notify contacts and change any external list service settings. In other words, you may have email contacts which will only recognise an email from you if it comes from @nmmu.ac.za e.g. insurance claims, medical aid claims, financial service providers etc.
It is important that you inform these institutions that your email is changing and that in future, your emails will come from @mandela.ac.za
